During our recent renewal of the EA licence using OBLS, we had encountered some difficulty due to the SSIC code which hinders us from successfully completing the renewal . However, with the provision of your help and your advice, we are able to complete the renewal process today. I want to take this opportunity to thank you and your support staff for all your kind assistance over the last two days. I have communicated with at least three different staff in your hotline services team and I must, however, single out one in particular who is exceptionally professional and helpful. Ms. Tay Jia Yi took my call on Monday after I had encountered repeated error messages during the renewal process. Instead of dismissing the issue as that of a technical problem or redirecting me to contact MOM, she took the lead and assist me in identifying the problem area. She successfully noticed that our SSIC code was wrong which caused the system to reject our selection of “select licence”. She advised that I should proceed to the ACRA website to change our SSIC Code so that the OBLS system could recognize the correct SSIC Code. I followed her instructions and managed to change our SSIC Code in ACRA to “Executive Search firm” instead of “Maid Agency” as it was originally wrongly stated. It is thus fair to say that without her help, we would probably still be stuck with the same problem.
In addition, I would also like to thank you for returning my call yesterday and providing me with the necessary assistance and guiding me to update our information on your OBLS system. Your professionalism and your handling of our call deserve commendation as well.
I’m thankful to both Jia Yi and your good self for all the assistance rendered and I would also like to congratulate you for hiring such a wonderful staff. Jia Yi should be made a role model for her team. |

The way SPRING has handled my application in this instance is impressive. I received acknowledgement of my application expeditiously from Ms Joges who also explained the process and timeline. And I received a courtesy call from her before this email to inform me the application was successful. I appreciate her thoughtfulness and professionalism.
I was also surprised at how fuss-free the application form was. As the voucher goes to a govt-related institution anyway and is not a direct cash handout to my company, this is the way it should be logically, with less red tape because there are enough checks and balances to ensure authentic disbursements. It had been my intention to write a negative review to the PS21 Office on the OBLS unfriendliness but Ms Grabrielle Lim change my view 180 degrees. She was not afraid to face my anger when I called regarding the loss of my draft. She calmly suggested resolutions as well as finally linked me up to SCDF for uploading of the files. I could recall an advertisement where it said something like “all we need is someone to believe in us”.
First, we had so much assistance and guidance from Ms Jing Jun of SPRING Singapore on the application. I was impressed by Jing Jun since the first day we met. She is so assertive and professional in carrying out the hand-holding sessions with us, in particular her responses during her leave.
I feel that she is a good role model for Civil Servants, one of those that deserves the merit awards that are given to those in the Civil Service.

I gladly write to commend on the OBLS online assistance and Scott’s professionalism.
Scott sounded confident, well trained and provided answers to all my questions with an even tone. He did not rush me to finish the call. He seems to take pride in his work and is proud of the OBLS portal services which represent 82 agencies.
Having also used OBLS recently, I wish to credit this intuitive system that was designed for the user, not the convenience of the organisation. This should be the goal and your management obviously knows that they are doing.
I was not aware that there was such a service centre dedicated to online assistance which walks “website search phobic” people like me through the internet. Shouldn’t we have more of this?

It was a very enlightening experience for the Sankei Eagle Management to know that SPRING Singapore has committed officers such as yourself who are supporting us. I write on behalf of my members and Executive Council to express our appreciation for the strong support that SPRING has extended to our members and to SMEs in Singapore through the years.
SPRING has proven itself to be a firm friend of SMEs, and economic downturn and deteriorating business conditions are times when that hand of friendship and support is most appreciated. SPRING has been a “Friend indeed" when SMEs are most in need.
In particular Cheong Boon and Mok Lee have been extremely forthcoming in seeking our feedback and suggestions in how SPRING can assist SMEs during this current slump. They have been instrumental in ensuring that the viewpoints of SMEs are represented in key meetings between the Government and business community.
I believe that their efforts and that of Enterprise Promotion team have in no small part contributed towards the implementation of the $2.3 billion financial assistance package announced in November last year and the Resilience Package announced in the recent Budget.
The support of the Singapore Government and cooperation among the public and private sectors and employers and workers alike will be key in lifting Singapore's economy and businesses back on the path of growth.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank SPRING SINGAPORE for the LETAS grant support we received when we hired an external consultant to work on our revamped website last year. As a leading document-imaging solution provider in Asia, we believe that customer satisfaction is paramount to success. As such, we believe in constantly addressing any gaps in our business processes and sought ways to improve this process through the implementation of a content management based website.
The use of an external consultant was extremely beneficial for us as it frees our existing resources so that we can focus on our core business units and expertise. This is really crucial especially when SMEs like us are battling a series of economic storms and lowered business forecasts. We are able to implement a much needed system to strengthen our selling initiatives and maintain a high level of customer service satisfaction without taking its toil financially at the same time.
On that positive note, we applaud SPRING SINGAPORE for the many programmes to boost SMEs businesses and employment in Singapore. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr Renganathan of Business & Service Excellence, who has shown us that not all "government" staff are just following the book, with no heart or passion or real intention to help.
As an SME, we have had our fair share and I have had enough personal experiences where we are promised a whole lot of help from either stat boards or banks, but end up with stacks of forms to fill and reports to read but end up not really knowing what to do and not receiving the help we are supposed to receive from what the government has promised.
When Nathan came for our SQC-PEO assessment, he was attentive throughout the whole process. His comments were practical and true and helped us to improve ourselves. After our first assessment with him, he was very encouraging, telling us specific areas to improve and that we will be able to make it.
Nathan showed true commitment and intention to help us as SMEs to move up the excellence framework. He inspired us that it is not just the MNCs and stat boards that make it, but despite our size, commitment to the framework and a true desire to improve ourselves is a value worth holding onto. After our first attempt where we didn't clear, he told us the areas we need to spruce up on, and told us that anytime we have questions, we can approach him.
Besides our consultant, the other person that has truly helped us in our journey is Nathan. In fact, even after we have gotten the SQC-PEO, whenever we are in doubt of anything we are still able to approach him and he is still very helpful and prompt in responding to our queries. I am so inspired that I have signed up to be a Business Excellence assessor myself.
So we would like to say a big thank you to Nathan and all of you at SPRING. Getting the SQC-PEO has really helped us at Washington. |

Mr Alan Koo’s moral support, constant encouragement and total commitment in his efforts in helping the project is instrumental in our ability to develop the range of control hoses we aimed for and their speedy and smooth completion.
