Singapore Innovation Class
Innovation is the hallmark of successful organisations in the knowledge economy. Today, quality and efficiency are no longer sufficient for sustaining competitiveness. To succeed, organizations need to acquire competencies for managing and sustaining innovation.

Launched in 2002, Singapore Innovation Class (I-Class) is the certification for the business excellence niche standard for innovation. The niche standard enables organisations to develop their innovation management capabilities. Based on the business excellence framework, it covers 6 categories namely, Leadership, Planning, Information, People, Processes, and Results.

Certification to the I-Class is determined by the organisation’s performance in the Innovation Scorecard for Business Excellence (I-SCORE). The assessment allows an organisation to benchmark its own innovation management systems and practices against the niche standard. A feedback report on strengths and areas for improvement is given to all organisations participating in the I-Class assessment.

Based on the outcome of the site assessment, organisations which have scored 400 points or more are certified to I-Class and the benefits of the certification include the use of the logo on their publicity materials.
