A wealth of financing
options for SMEs

SMEs welcome customised loan packages

If your company is less than five years old, has a paid up capital of at least S$50,000 and is developing innovative products or processes for the global market, you could qualify for the Business Angels Scheme.

This scheme brings together business angels to invest in your company with a matching dollar from SPRING SEEDS Capital*, up to a maximum of $1.5 million. You will need to obtain a minimum investment of $75,000 from one of the 3 pre-approved business angel groups. Both SPRING SEEDS Capital and the business angel group will take equity stakes in the company in proportion to their investments.

Start-ups that are already funded under SEEDS can still apply to BAS for follow-on investment up to a maximum of $1.5 million.

From 1 December 2008 to 30 November 2009, SPRING SEEDS Capital will match two dollars for every dollar invested by one of the 3 pre-approved angel groups.

* SPRING SEEDS Capital is a subsidiary of SPRING Singapore.

This scheme is similar to the Startup Enterprise Development Scheme (SEEDS) in encouraging business angel investment in innovative start-up companies. 

Things to note

To enable the process to be more efficient, the Business Angel groups have indicated sectors which they will NOT consider investing into :
 
BAF Spectrum : Retail, F&B, Automotive, Aviation, Recruitment and Talent agencies and Fast Moving Consumer Goods
Sirius Angel : Bio tech, Life Sciences and Property development
Accel-X : No specific areas that they will exclude as long as the business is potentially scalable
