To raise service standards in the F&B sector, some 44 F&B companies that make up 1,100 outlets and 26,000 service staff in Singapore have joined the Customer-Centric Initiative. The CCI F&B is estimated to impact 26% of total F&B establishments and 38% of total F&B workers in Singapore.
All CCI F&B companies will undergo a three-step process which involves
- Pre-service audits;
- Service interventions (activities to address service gaps identified); and
- Post-service audits.
To help companies audit and benchmark their service quality against one another, SPRING and The Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS) will facilitate the development of the sub-sector service standards.
To-date, service standards have been developed for two key F&B sub-sectors: restaurants, and pubs and clubs. Companies in the two sub-sectors will use the service standards to audit their service level and identify service gaps before they intervene to close the gaps.
