Industry Branding

Overview

BrandPact supports industry branding efforts and adopts a cluster development approach by leveraging on industry branding efforts. The different government agencies work closely with the business associations on industry-wide brand projects, or brand research efforts that are useful to enterprises for branding themselves to reach out to new markets.

Partnering with the industry associations, three industry branding projects in the Food Manufacturing, Retail and Furniture industries were developed.

Food Manufacturing

All Tasty Singapore is an initiative by IE Singapore, SPRING and Singapore Food Manufacturers’ Association (SFMA), to provide our Singapore Food and Beverage companies with a common platform to promote themselves and showcase Singapore food to the world. The Tasty Singapore brand captures the essence and spirit of Singapore food and represents the quality and high standards that have made Singapore food world-renowned. Representing the key attributes of Distinctiveness, Passion, Confidence, the branding has been promoted actively in trade shows such as SIAL in France and Foodex in Japan.

Retail

GET SINGAPORE is a joint initiative of SPRING and the retail industry, supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, to raise awareness of homegrown retail design ‘gems’ in our own backyard. GET SINGAPORE is a collective brand that acts as a focused marketing platform to showcase well designed, high quality Singapore brands both here and abroad.

GET SINGAPORE has been subscribed by 37 brands, comprising large and mid-sized local retailers. Participating brands sign up on an annual basis to be part of this collective marketing platform and all proceeds go towards the marketing and promotional activities undertaken on a group basis for the participating brands.

GET SINGAPORE will be organizing a series of events and activities targeting consumers and companies in Singapore. These encompass both mall activities, as well as joint initiatives with key strategic partners such as payment system vendors, mall owners, and industry associations. It offers participating brands a strategic and unified platform to showcase and market their brands and merchandise to a wider audience in Singapore and abroad.

Furniture

Furniture has evolved from being just a commodity item in the past to become lifestyle items that reflect people’s personalities. In response, manufacturers and retailers have started to pay more attention of design, quality and brand image. Local furniture manufacturers are placing strong emphasis on branding and design to boost their success locally and overseas. As more local companies hone these two cutting-edge capabilities, Singapore-designed furniture will move several notches up in the world in terms of image and value.

In April 07, the furniture industry announced that it will embark on a Singapore Furniture Industry Branding Programme to improve the industry’s competitiveness in export markets by building up the brand image of Singapore-designed furniture. Spearheaded by Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) and supported by SPRING and IE Singapore, the programme will also boost the industry’s capabilities in management, design, knowledge and research and enhance the image of the industry so that it can attract the next generation of talented Singaporeans into its ranks.
