What can design do for your business?
The world is changing rapidly everyday. Markets are shrinking. New markets take their place. Technology is advancing at an unprecedented speed. Customers’ needs are a moving target. 7 out of 10 products that exist today could not even be conceived 10 years ago.
Design, or design thinking, offers a new mindset and a new set of tools to cope with today’s challenges. Around the world, more global enterprises are using design as a strategy to build the bottom line. Through a collaborative and human-centric approach, our local enterprises can use design to gain deeper insights into their customers and make use of that user understanding to create innovation.
The Design Engage Programme focuses on the design methods and mindsets that help enterprises identify new areas for growth. Enterprises can learn a new way to accelerate innovation in their products, services and experiences. Through the Programme, enterprises will also create and enhance their business strategy to achieve new breakthroughs.
SMEs are encouraged to take the first step towards capability upgrading by tapping the Innovation and Capability Voucher (ICV) scheme. The ICV (Innovation) can be redeemed at participating service providers. SMEs which wish to further upgrade their capabilities may tap Design Engage for customised assistance.
The Design Engage Programme provides expert-guided assistance from Design Facilitators to help design-ready enterprises build up design capabilities and integrate strategic design thinking into their business for greater differentiation and increased competitive edge.
Design Engage consists of two phases :
Design Engage Programme Phases
Phase 1 – Design Strategy Integration
Phase 2 – Project
How will you learn?
Phase 1 helps enterprises adopt design capabilities and acquire design thinking principles in a low-risk, low-cost environment with the guidance of Design Facilitators. Enterprises will analyse their current design capabilities and identity key gaps and opportunities for breakthroughs and growth.
|How will you learn?
With a better understanding of the role of design to create breakthroughs in the business, enterprises can continue to Phase 2 by working with various experts to develop or improve their products, processes and/or services.
|What will your business take away?
At the end of Phase 1, enterprises will be empowered with a new mindset to tackle the business challenges. You will also receive a design strategic roadmap, a design tool-kit which consist key tools and methodologies and a set of recommendations for implementation.
|What will your business take away?
Some of the projects that enterprises can embark on in Phase 2 includes business redesign, service or production innovation, business process redesign or organisational innovation etc.
