Business Excellence (BE) initiative
The SME Management Action for Results (SMART) Initiative helps Singapore-based SMEs develop business management capabilities using the Business Excellence framework. Under SMART, a qualified consultant works with the SME to develop a roadmap to build its capabilities. The SME can then initiate projects to implement the roadmap.
The management team of SMEs embarking on the SMART initiative must commit up to five man-days (40 hours) over one to two months for the engagement sessions with the consultant.
SMEs are encouraged to take the first step towards capability upgrading by tapping the Innovation and Capability Voucher (ICV) scheme. The ICV (Productivity) can be redeemed at participating service providers.
SMEs which have fully redeemed their ICV vouchers under Productivity and would like to continue engaging SMART consultants to assist in other modules may still apply for funding under the Capability Development Scheme (CDS).
Under CDS, SPRING will support up to 70% of qualifying cost for the consultancy incurred by your company on the project during the qualifying period subject to a maximum grant of S$3,500.
You may apply for the SMART initiative if your company meets all these criteria :
- Physically present and registered in Singapore
- Have at least 30% local shareholding, and
- Have group annual sales of not more than $100 million or group employment size not exceeding 200 workers
