Association of Private Schools and Colleges Singapore (APSC)
Proposal Title
Building Successful Private Education Organisations (PEOs) - Creating Organisational Excellence and Academic Quality
Vision
To be a Credible and Leading Voice of the Singapore’s Private Education Industry.
Key Initiatives under the Proposal
Branding of the Private Education Sector
APSC will develop a comprehensive communication and publicity plan to establish effective communication channels for all stakeholders. Timely and effective communication is important in ensuring members of the public in both local and overseas markets have ready access to information about private education in Singapore. This will allow them to make informed choices. These channels shall also allow for feedback and 2-way communication.
Developing a Quality Framework
The framework shall address :
Organisational Quality, by developing the industry’s organisational ethics, and engaging in manpower development. As educational providers, it is vital for PEOs to maintain a level of integrity and quality in the management of their organisations. APSC plans to develop a code of organisational ethics for PEOs to adopt.
Academic Quality, by maintaining a Registry for Certification, providing Testing Services; and developing the organizational skills of PEOs. APSC intends to set-up a registry of educational programmes provided by PEOs to raise PEOs’ quality assurance practices. The complied list of “certified” academic programmes will be published in a public domain for public view. APSC also intends to establish itself as a testing and assessment centre for PEOs in Singapore.
Internationalisation of Business
To gain access to transnational education players, APSC’s intends to help PEOs forge strategic international partnerships.
Participation in international events will generate more awareness of Singapore PEOs overseas. APSC aims to support PEOs in their business development efforts in overseas markets, thereby attracting more foreign students to study in Singapore.
