Sony asks customers to stop using VAIO Fit 11A personal computer due to risk of overheating
Sony is asking customers to stop using the following models of the VAIO Fit 11A personal computer (PC) : SVF11N18CGB and SVF11N18CGP. The internal, non-removable battery packs can overheat, resulting in partial burns to the body of the PC. Consumers should immediately discontinue use, shut down and unplug the personal computer. Sony is now in the process of identifying affected PCs by serial numbers and creating a program to repair or replace the affected PCs. PlayTex Products Inc recalls pacifier holder clips due to risk of choking
PlayTex Products Inc has issued a voluntary product recall of its pacifier holder clips with the serial number: UPC code 7830005924. The pacifier holder clip can crack and a small part can break off, posing a choking hazard to small children. Consumers who have bought the product should immediately take the product away from infants and return the product to the respective retailer for a refund. Lenovo recalls battery packs for ThinkPad notebook computers due to fire hazard
Lenovo has issued a voluntary recall of certain lithium-ion batteries pre-installed or sold as optional or replacement batteries for ThinkPad T410, T420, T510, W510, X100E, X120E, X200, X201, X201s, Edge 11, Edge 13, and Edge 14 Series notebook computers. The battery packs can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. The recalled battery packs were sold between October 2010 and April 2011. Consumers should immediately turn off their ThinkPad notebook computer, remove the battery pack and contact Lenovo for a free replacement battery pack. Consumers can continue to use their ThinkPad notebook without the battery pack by plugging in the AC adapter and power cord. IKEA recalls children’s bed canopies due to risk of strangulation
IKEA has issued a voluntary recall of children’s bed canopies due to risk of strangulation. The models affected are: LEGENDARISK, MINNEN bed canopy set, BARNSLIG BOLL, MINNEN BRODYR, HIMMEL, FABLER, TISSLA and KLÄMMIG and were sold since 1996. The infants’ necks can get entangled in the bed canopies if these are pulled into the cot or bed. Consumers are advised to stop using the bed canopies immediately and bring them back to the IKEA store for a full refund. V.Hive recalls Evon Office Chair due to risk of injury
V.Hive has issued a voluntary recall of the Evon Office Chair (model: SS-7746/BK) due to risk of injury. The legs of the chair can break, posing fall and laceration hazards. The recalled chairs were sold in 2013. Consumers are advised to stop using the chair immediately and contact V.Hive at 67471818 for an exchange of the product.

Smiggle recalls “Smiggle Loopz Fan” due to risk of overheating
Smiggle Singapore Pte Ltd has issued a voluntary product recall of its “Smiggle Loopz Fan” which was sold at Smiggle stores and online at smiggle.com.au from 3 October 2013 to 13 January 2014. The internal mechanism may overheat if the fan is powered by both USB and batteries at the same time, causing the batteries to leak. When in contact with skin, leaking batteries could cause injury to the user. Consumers who have bought the product should immediately stop powering the Loopz Fan with both USB and batteries and return the product to Smiggle for a refund. 3T Design recalls Cervélo P5 bicycles with 3T Aduro aero handlebars due to risk of injury
3T Design has issued a voluntary recall of 2012 and 2013 Cervélo P5 bicycles with 3T Aduro aero handlebars due to risk of injury. The forward extension mounts on the handlebar can detach from the base bar while riding, and cause the rider to lose control, posing a risk of injury. The bicycles are black with red and white stripes with “P5” written on the seat tube, "Cervélo" on the top tube and a large “é” on the down tube in white lettering. Affected handlebars can only be identified when disassembled. Consumers are advised to stop using the bicycles immediately and contact their dealer to have a safety check performed. Medela recalls B-Well Steam Sterilisers due to risk of electric shock or fire
Medela AG has issued a voluntary recall of B-Well Steam Sterilisers due to risk of electric shock or fire. Moisture may enter the electronics or the power cable at the connection between the cable and the device. This may cause a short circuit, which could then pose a potential fire hazard. The affected products can be identified by either the model number (200.3377 or 200.3378) or the article number (008.0100, 008.0101, 008.0102, 008.0103, 008.0104, 008.0121 and 008.0287). Trek Bicycles Corp has issued a recall of "Model Year 2013" Trek Madone Bicycles with model numbers 5.2, 5.9, 6.2, 6.5, 7.7 or 7.9 and serial numbers starting with WTU and ending with G or H. The front brake of the bicycle could fail, posing a crash hazard. IKEA issues updated alert on SMILA wall-mounted lamps due to strangulation hazard
IKEA has issued an updated safety alert for their SMILA wall-mounted lamps. The cords of the lamps can present a strangulation hazard to infants and toddlers if they are placed too close to a cot or playpen. Consumers are advised to check immediately that the lamp and cord are out of arm’s reach of their child when he/she is placed in a cot or playpen and that the cord is securely fastened to the wall. The lamp and its cords should be at least one metre away from any part of a crib, cot, playpen or other safe sleep environment. Consumers with the affected product are advised to proceed to the Exchange and Returns Counters at either IKEA Tampines or IKEA Alexandra to collect a free repair kit containing a warning label, safety instructions and self-adhesive fasteners for fixing the lamp cord to the wall. Smiggle recalls “Light Up Words Fan” due to risk of overheating
Smiggle Singapore Pte Ltd has issued a voluntary product recall of its “Light Up Words Fan” (style 410738) which was sold at Smiggle stores and online at smiggle.com.au from 9 October 2013. The internal mechanism of the fan may overheat and pose a potential fire hazard. The overheating could cause the product to smoke or potentially set alight, causing serious injury to the user. BSH to replace power cords and plugs for Bosch dryers and washer-dryers for overheating risk
BSH Home Appliances Pte. Ltd. has issued a notice to replace the power cords and plugs on Bosch branded dryer models WTA74100ZA, WTE84101AU, WTE86301AU, WTS86514BY, WTS86515BY, WTV74100ME and washer-dryer model WVH28420EU. Suunto Oy recalls high pressure rubber hoses on diving equipment due to risk of severe injury or death
Suunto Oy has issued a recall of a limited batch of high pressure rubber hoses, used with Suunto air integrated dive computers, dive computer combos and analog combos. The affected high pressure rubber hoses, which are made of defective material, may suffer from leak or rupture, leading to loss of breathing gas at a rate that is higher than anticipated. This may result in severe injury or death. Only hoses with the manufacturing batch code 1812 (printed on the hose), sold between November 2012 and July 2013, are affected by this recall. Consumers should stop using affected hoses immediately, and return the product to an authorised Suunto Dive dealer or Suunto Authorized Service Centre for a replacement. IKEA recalls KRITTER AND SNIGLAR junior beds due to laceration hazard
IKEA has issued a recall for KRITTER and SNIGLAR junior beds. Breakage of the metal rod connecting the guardrail to the bed frame has been reported. The broken rod could expose sharp metal edges and present a laceration hazard. Consumers should immediately check the date stamp on the label attached to either the headboard or the underside of the bed. Only KRITTER junior beds with date stamp (YYWW) from 1114 to 1322 and SNIGLAR junior beds with date stamp from 1114 to 1318 are affected. Nap Nanny Baby Recliners recalled due to strangulation, entrapment and fall hazards
Retailers in the United States and Australia have recalled the Nap Nanny portable recliners due to strangulation, entrapment and fall hazards posed to children. Since 2010, there have been five deaths and over 70 injuries reported in the United States. These baby recliners may pose a substantial risk of injury and even death, to infants. While these products do not appear to be sold in Singapore, parents and caregivers are advised to stop using these baby recliners immediately if they have purchased them overseas. Bugaboo to replace carry handles for Cameleon and Donkey model strollers
Bugaboo International B.V. has issued a notice to replace the carry handles for its Cameleon and Bugaboo Donkey model strollers. Under certain conditions, the white button on the carry handle may pop out when the Bugaboo Cameleon or Bugaboo Donkey carrycot/seat is resting on the ground or is placed on an unstable surface. If the white button pops out, the carry handle may detach on one side. If this happens while the carry cot or seat is occupied, this may pose a fall or choking hazard to the child. Ride-on animal toy recalled for exceeding phthalates limit
SPRING Singapore has found that a ride-on animal toy given out as a free gift contains unsafe levels of phthalates, commonly used as a plasticiser in toys. The toy comes in the shape of cows, deers and ponies. Consumers should stop using the toys and dispose of them immediately, or return them to the retailer, Aura Roboclean Singapore Pte Ltd (Tel: 6100 9788). Jinshunli electric multifunctional pot may cause fire or electric shock
SPRING Singapore has found a non-registered electric multifunctional pot to be unsafe. The pot, which has the marking “Jinshunli Multifunctional Pot”, was tested by an accredited third party testing laboratory and found to have several safety breaches. Besides a faulty thermal cutout, there is no earthing for the accessible metal parts. Further, the 3 flat-pin plug that comes with the pot does not fit the mains sockets here. These breaches pose both fire and electrocution hazards, making the product unsafe for consumers. Bumbo International recalls Baby Seats due to fall hazard
Bumbo International has issued a recall for Bumbo Baby Seats due to fall hazard. Babies can manoeuvre out of or fall from the Bumbo seat, posing a risk of serious injuries.

The bottom of the Bumbo seat is round and flat with a diameter of about 15 inches. It is constructed of a single piece of molded foam and comes in various colours. The seat has leg holes and the seat back wraps completely around the child. On the front of the seat in raised lettering is the word "Bumbo" with the image of an elephant on top. The bottom of the seat has the following words: "Manufactured by Bumbo South Africa Material: Polyurethane World Patent No. PCT: ZA/1999/00030." The back of the seat has several warnings and seats manufactured since 2008 have an additional label on the front of the seat warning against use on raised surfaces.

Consumers should immediately stop using the product until they order and install a free repair kit, which includes: a restraint belt with a warning label, installation instructions, safe use instructions and a new warning sticker. The belt should always be used when a child is placed in the seat. Even with the belt, the seat should never be used on any raised surface. Consumers should also stop using Bumbo seat covers that interfere with the installation and use of the belt. Samsonite recalls “Tokyo Chic” Luggage due to health concerns
Samsonite has issued a worldwide recall for its American Tourister brand’s "Tokyo Chic" luggage. Parts of the side-carrying handles of the luggage have been found to contain high levels of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) which may cause cancer. The concerned product has model number starts with 34A*XXXXX, however, there is no serial number/model range imprinted on the luggage. Consumers who have purchased this product can refer to their warranty card or receipt for verification and have the side-carrying handles of their luggage replaced by Samsonite, from 25 June 2012 onwards, at :

Toys”R”Us recalls Imaginarium Activity Center due to choking hazard
Toys”R”Us has issued a recall of Imaginarium Activity Center sold exclusively in Toys”R” Us stores. The small wooden knobs attaching the xylophone keys to the end can detach, causing a choking hazard to young children. The Imaginarium 5-Sided Activity Center has two triangle-shaped ends with a wooden multi-coloured xylophone on one and a mirror on the other. The name “Imaginarium” appears in a blue, oval-shaped logo underneath the mirror on one end. The recalled product has model number 46284 which is printed on the back of the box, directly above the bar code. Specialized Bicycle Components recalls bike brake levers due to crash hazard
Specialized Bicycle Components has issued a recall for Tektro TL-83 brake levers, due to crash hazard. The adjuster cap and brake cable can slide out of position and make the brakes non-operational. IKEA recalls two SÄNDA lighting tracks due to risk of electric shock

Nikon recalls EN-EL15 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery for risk of overheating
Nikon Singapore has issued a Service Advisory for some EN-EL15 Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries for Nikon digital single-lens reflex cameras and advanced cameras with interchangeable lenses. These batteries may not be up to standards due to a sub-standard component built into the affected batteries. In extremely rare cases, this issue may cause the battery to overheat and the exterior casing to become deformed. Consumers are advised to check Nikon's service advisory or contact Nikon Singapore Pte Ltd at +65 6559 6363.

IKEA recalls ANTILOP children's high chair belt for potential fall hazard
IKEA has issued a recall for the ANTILOP children’s high chairs belts. The high chair belt can open unexpectedly in use, creating a fall hazard. Only ANTILOP high chairs from supplier #17389 with production dates 0607-0911(YYMM) are affected. Consumers are asked to contact IKEA’s Customer Service line at 6786 6868 for more information or visit the Exchange and Returns Counter at IKEA stores to receive a replacement belt free of charge. Build-A-Bear Workshop recalls Colourful Hearts Teddy for potential choking hazard
Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. has issued a voluntary product safety recall of its Colourful Hearts Teddy (sold from April to Dec 2011). The teddy bear’s eyes could loosen and fall out, posing a choking hazard to children. However, to date, there have been no reported injuries. IKEA recalls PAX AURLAND mirror door for risk of falling 
IKEA has issued a recall of a limited number of PAX AURLAND mirrors (supplier number 12650 and 4-digit date stamp 1039 – 1048 printed on rear of mirror door). The large mirror can detach unexpectedly from the door and fall, creating sharp shards upon breaking. The mirror is heavy, and combined with the risk of breaking, it poses a risk of injury to users. Consumers are advised to contact Customer Service line or Exchange and Returns Counter at IKEA stores to receive a replacement mirror door free of charge. Bugaboo International B.V. recalls Bugaboo Bee model stroller for risk of tip-over
Bugaboo International B.V. has issued a recall of the Bugaboo Bee model stroller manufactured between Jan 2011 and Sep 2011, bearing serial numbers from 160101110100051 to 160101113801999. The front swivel wheels on some of these strollers could potentially block forward movement and risk tipping over when in use.
