As the national standards and accreditation body, SPRING develops and promotes internationally-recognised quality and standards assurance to enhance competitiveness and facilitate trade.

SPRING actively encourages enterprises to adopt Singapore standards and international standards. We facilitate industry participation in developing new standards and aligning Singapore standards to international standards.

SPRING also manages the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC), the national authority for the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies. Besides developing programmes to improve the standard of conformity assessment activities, SAC also establishes an international network for the acceptance of conformity assessment reports and certifications.

As the Safety Authority, SPRING manages the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Registration Scheme, where we ensure that 45 categories of electrical, electronics and gas products meet the specified safety standards before they are given the SAFETY Mark and sold in Singapore.
