 Local Enterprise Technical Assistance Scheme (LETAS)

LETAS has ceased grant support for SMEs to engage external consultants for Quality Management systems projects with effect from 1 July 2011. SPRING will continue to process claims for applications received and approved prior to 1 July 2011.

Overview

The Local Enterprise Technical Assistance Scheme (LETAS) provides grant for enterprises to engage external consultants to implement quality management including ISO certification.

LETAS subsidises up to 50% of the costs of hiring the consultant#. Funding support for Quality Management system projects does not cover certification fees, surveillance fees and all other kinds of related fees.

# For Quality Management System projects, it is subject to a maximum grant cap of $5,000 or 50% of consultancy cost (whichever is lower).

How to claim?

  1. Complete and submit LETAS Claim Form and LETAS Declaration Form (Word Format, 87kB).
    1. For IT projects, please use the LETAS IT Claim Form (WORD format, 227kB)
    2. For QMS projects, please use the LETAS QMS Claim Form (WORD format, 207kB)
    Note : All applicants claiming for Management Systems (eg ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) projects under the LETAS will be required to seek certification from :
    • Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC)-accredited management systems certification bodies. Click here for the SAC-accredited management system certification bodies for their contact details, or
    • Singapore-based management systems certification bodies which have been assessed on site and accredited by SAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) partners. Please see list of SAC MRA partners.
    The QMS certificate must bears the respective accredited logo (either by SAC or SAC MRA). SPRING do not accept unaccredited certificate under the LETAS claim.

  2. For a template of the LETAS consultant assignment report, please refer to LETAS Consultant Assignment Report (WORD format, 23kB). You will need to submit this report to claim for funds.
  3. For more information on LETAS terms and conditions, please refer to LETAS Terms & Conditions (WORD format, 45kB).
  4. Attach the supporting documents :
    • invoices
    • receipts (including cheque number)
    • bank statements (to show payment and clearance of cheques)
    • Consultant Assignment Report
    Note : Claim must be received within 6 months from the scheduled completion date of the assignment. Otherwise, the offer of the grant shall automatically lapse.

  5. Wait 3 - 4 weeks to receive the funds. To receive funds through interbank giro, complete and submit the Giro form (PDF format, 77kB) with your Claim form. Applicants not on the giro scheme will be given a cheque.
