SME Growth Excellence for Top Internationalising SMEs
S & I Systems Pte Ltd is an integrated information technology solutions company that provides enterprise infrastructure, business solutions and integration services. With Singapore as its headquarters, S & I employs some 200 employees around the Asia Pacific.

The importance of growing a strong and vibrant domestic small and medium enterprise (SME) sector contributes to the robustness and diversity of most economies and in Singapore, this is no different. Our SMEs account for about 45% of national GDP and 60% of jobs available to the workforce. This year, world economic growth is expected to exceed 4% and the Singapore economy expects to see steady growth of between 7%-8%.

DP Information Group (DP Info) introduced the "SME Growth Excellence Recognition" in November 2007 to recognize SMEs who have distinguished themselves in four categories, namely, outstanding financial growth performance in sales/turnover, net profit, overseas turnover and credit rating.

In her speech at the launch, Ms Chen Yew Nah, Managing Director of DP Info, highlighted, "Through this recognition we aim to identify the unsung heroes of the SME community. These are superb SMEs that deserve commendation. They also provide examples and role models for aspiring entrepreneurs."

Over the years, DP Info has established corporate recognition awards such as the Singapore 1000 and SME 500, and the SME Growth Excellence Recognition will recognise companies for achieving the most promising growth rates.

Mr Loh Khum Yean, Chief Executive of SPRING Singapore said, "These awards not only encourage companies to strive for better performance and growth, they also provide a balanced objective evaluation of how our corporate sector is performing."

The Singapore SME Growth Excellence Recognition companies are selected based on their audited financial figures in ACRA. They are inspiring role models for other homegrown enterprises that aspire to grow their businesses at home and beyond Singapore's shores. ET
