In support of the Consumer Protection Registration Scheme (CPS), SPRING also functions as the Designation Authority. As the Designating Authority, we

- Designate Conformity Assessment Bodies [CAB (Local-MRA)] located in Singapore to perform testing and certification of regulated products to the Mutual Recognition Agreement or Arrangement (MRA) partner's requirments;
- Recognise testing laboratories as Recognised Testing Laboratories (RTLs) to carry out the testing of Controlled Goods under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations 2002.
To qualify the designation and recognition, CABs and RTLs must fulfil the criteria of designation and recognition, respectively. Upon the successful designation or recognition, a certificate will be issued to the respective CABs and RTLs.
